Job Description Caregiver / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)PRN/POOL
Reports To:
RN Case Manager / LPN Supervisor – Jesuit Community
Under the direction of an RN or LPN, the Caregiver/CNA provides assistance with medication administration and activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure the safety, comfort, and well‑being of clients. Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, mobility, and transfers
- Assist with or administer medications upon completion of required medication administration training
- Take and report vital signs and observe changes in client condition
- Perform basic medical support tasks such as glucose monitoring, insulin administration, catheter care, simple dressing changes, colostomy care, and intake/output tracking
- Prepare snacks and assist with feeding as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe client environment, including light housekeeping and laundry
- Accurately document care provided according to policy
- Communicate promptly with the RN/LPN regarding any changes in client condition
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all safety, infection control, and resident rights guidelines
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
- Medication administration certification (or willingness to complete within the first 90 days)
- Minimum age of 18
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull up to 44 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and assist with transfers
- Manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination for caregiving and medication administration
- Ability to remain alert and focused in a fast‑paced environment
- Completion of continuing education (6 hours every 6 months)
- Submission of monthly availability by the 5th of each month
- Ability to adapt to varying client needs and personalities
