Working Onsite the Quality Engineer III plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and process compliance within a manufacturing environment. This position focuses on proactive quality management through preventative measures, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation. By leading audits, driving corrective actions, and implementing quality systems, this role helps maintain high standards aligned with ISO requirements. The impact extends across operations, resolving quality issues and defect on the production floor, improving product reliability, minimizing defects, and strengthening overall operational excellence.
This role is essential in fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.
On-site at one of our many State-of-the-Art highest Jabil revenue generating Florence, KY facilities.
Shift:12-hour shift 6pm to 6am with rotating Wednesdays/Thursdays working 4 on with 3 days off then 3 on with 4 days off throughout the week. Sunday – Wednesday / Sunday - Tuesday 6PM – 6AM
What Will You Do?- Lead and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) systems.
- Conduct and facilitate Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and execute quality planning strategies, including control plans and inspection processes.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on quality issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Develop, review, and approve work instructions to ensure consistent operational procedures.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives using established quality tools and methodologies.
- Mentor junior quality engineers and production personnel to promote quality standards.
- Manage quality-related aspects of the company’s risk management framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.
- Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Report on quality performance metrics and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
- Support ongoing operational excellence initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Prefer a strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant quality standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Experience developing and managing work instructions and SOPs.
- Proficiency in quality planning tools and methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and trends.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience leading cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience with in highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Professional certifications in quality (e.g., ASQ CQE) are a plus.
- Hands-on experience with audit management and leading audits.
- Experience mentoring or leading small teams preferred.
