Carpenter / Maintenance Specialist
St. Camillus is looking for a skilled Carpenter / Maintenance Specialist to help maintain, repair, and improve our campus for the residents, families, and team members who depend on us every day. - Plan and perform journey-level carpentry and maintenance work across buildings and campus spaces.
- Install and repair structures, walls, ceilings, millwork, casework, cabinets, fixtures, furniture, doors, and related hardware.
- Support refurbishing projects, including installing curtains, shelves, grab bars, non-slip surfaces, doors, and hardware.
- Perform interior and exterior building maintenance and repairs while following safety, quality, and preventive maintenance standards.
- Maintain tools, shop areas, work records, materials, inventory, and equipment in good working order.
- Communicate important maintenance information between shifts and assist other Environmental Services departments when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a carpenter apprenticeship or accredited trade school.
- At least five years of construction experience.
- Journey-level experience in rough and finish carpentry.
- Strong mechanical ability and knowledge of construction methods, maintenance principles, and safe work practices.
- Ability to weld and cut metals, use basic computer tools, and work with maintenance equipment and systems.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders, working at heights or in tight spaces, and lifting up to 80 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Previous healthcare, residential, hotel, or large-facility maintenance experience is helpful.
Full-time position, 80 hours bi-weekly, primarily 1st shift. Occasional weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and on-call rotation may be required based on department needs.
