Are you a dedicated OB Hospitalist seeking a rewarding opportunity to provide essential care in a vibrant community? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician to serve as a Locum OB Hospitalist in Waverly, IA. This pivotal role offers the chance to deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care, ensuring positive outcomes for patients and supporting hospital staff in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage OB triage, unassigned gynecological emergencies, and deliveries

Provide GYN coverage as needed

Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure quality patient care

Handle an expected volume of 13+ patient encounters per day

Conduct an average of 1-4 deliveries per hospitalist shift

Be available on a schedule that includes clinic and call duties, following the MHAS model

Maintain compliance with hospital standards and policies

Required Skills:

Valid medical license and board eligibility in OB/GYN

Proven experience in obstetrics and gynecology, with a focus on hospitalist duties

Strong clinical and decision-making skills

Compassionate patient care approach

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

Skills:

Experience working with EMR systems (training to be determined)

Previous locum or hospitalist experience

Skilled in managing complex obstetric cases

Preferred

Education and Experience:

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

Successful completion of residency in OB/GYN

At least 2 years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology; hospitalist experience highly desired

Other Requirements:

Availability for start date of 12/31/2025

Willingness to provide clinic and call coverage as per MHAS model

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred

Willingness to travel to Waverly, IA, and comply with state and federal licensing requirements

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
