High School Math Teacher

Waverly-Shell Rock High School is seeking a High School Mathematics Teacher who is deeply committed to our core values of belonging, opportunity, and achievement. This educator will teach upper-level mathematics courses and concurrent enrollment coursework aligned to college standards, ensuring students experience rigorous, relevant learning that prepares them for success beyond high school. A Master's Degree in Mathematics or a closely related content area is required, along with appropriate Iowa licensure and credentials to teach concurrent enrollment courses.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong content expertise and the ability to design engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding. They will maintain high expectations for all learners, use assessment to guide instruction, and provide meaningful feedback that drives growth. Experience teaching advanced courses such as Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, or other upper-level mathematics offerings is essential.

Equally important, this educator will build positive relationships with students and families, foster a classroom culture where students feel valued and supported, and collaborate effectively with colleagues through Professional Learning Communities.
