Design Engineer

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

• Perform weight distribution calculations for sales estimates and for production mixers.
• Recommend truck chassis layout and custom configuration and compare with chassis on arrival.
• Complete a production check sheet for each mixer to ensure fitment of all components and develop any specialty components or brackets that are required. Notify if any chassis components need to be relocated.
• Transfer mixer component layout to truck chassis for production readiness.
• Provide daily technical support to production supervisors and assemblers.
• Coordinates with sales team and/or customers to meet customer requirements.
• Reviews legislative and regulatory documents or actions to determine impact on orders.
• Utilize various engineering tools, i.e., a personal computer (PC) or (CAD) equipment, in assigned projects as applicable.
• Create and revise drawings. Perform other engineering-related tasks as required i.e., analysis, bills of material creation, manufacturing support, layout work, and supplier contact.
• Check work to ensure accuracy of spelling, drawing format and organization, dimension and tolerance convention, and conformance with Engineering Standards.
• Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
• Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the Company. Conduct duties consistent with the Company’s mission statement, quality objectives, and defined policies and procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or related field). Or Associate’s degree plus equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years related manufacturing experience with on or off highway heavy machinery
• Experience with Solid Works PDM software
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as fabricating, welding, and machining
• Experience in at least one of the following systems:
  Hydraulics, Controls, Electrical, Hybrids, CNG, Chassis/Body Integration
• Proven experience with MRP/ERP systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Hands-on mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively on the shop floor.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
