POSITION SUMMARY

  • Perform a variety of inspection processes and utilize testing equipment to validate all work produced meets UEA quality standards and customer specifications; document inspection findings and maintain up-to-date quality incident logs for timely communication and problem-resolution of internal and external non-conformities.
  • Work with product returns and warranty claims to identify defects, trouble shoot failures, and assist with the root cause analysis process including onsite customer repairs and part installation as requested.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports directly to the Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager. No positions report directly to this position.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE - A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a mechanical/electrical component assembly environment preferred.

SKILLS - Strong communication skills are essential to effectively collect and disseminate information with employees at all levels of the organization. Basic computer knowledge is required. Great attention to detail and problem solving ability are necessary to recognize critical characteristics, identify defects, and troubleshoot product non-conformities or failures. Must be able to follow blueprints, verbal and written work instructions and effectively work under time constraints.

PHYSICAL - Regularly required to stand for extended periods, sit, walk, bend, kneel, and talk. Use of hands and arms is necessary to reach, grab, and handle parts; as well as pushing and pulling to execute inspection methods. Possess specific vision abilities including near vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus (with corrective lenses if necessary), and ability to distinguish color to perform the requirements of the position.

The ability to hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficiently to understand and comprehend work instructions and individual one‑on‑one conversations is also necessary. Lifting up to 50 lbs. is required.

MENTAL - Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and possess the ability to communicate clearly on technical and business levels while maintaining professional conduct is essential.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Quality Inspector will primarily work in a plant setting which is a smoke free environment that has typical factory hazards and including noise, dust, drilling, lubricants, tripping hazards, blocked walkways, and hazards common to machining of parts such as sharp tools and objects, moving parts, metal shavings and slivers, flames, sparks, and smoke. United Equipment Accessories, Inc. functions in a real market environment that changes at various times of the year which occasionally may create high output or greater time pressure demands.

This full‑time position’s regular work schedule is 5:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 5:30 am to 9:30 am on Friday. Hours may vary according to business demands, including requirements to work overtime. Occasional travel to customer site for component installation or service may be required.

  • Responsible for familiarization with all United Equipment Accessories’ products and assembly specifications
  • Utilize work instructions and computer software to validate product conformity, record non-conformities, maintain logs and other quality records, track job details, and record labor and attendance information
