Position: Production Line Assembler at High Country Drapery Designs Waverly, IA

Production Line Assembler – Waverly, IA

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Drapery Line Assembler to join our dynamic production team. As a vital member of our assembly line, you will be responsible for performing a variety of sewing and finishing tasks to construct high-end custom draperies. This role requires a team player with strong sewing skills and the ability to work efficiently and consistently in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is precise, reliable, and committed to producing exceptional work at every stage of the assembly process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial sewing machines (e.g., straight stitch, serger, blind hemmer) to assemble drapery panels.
  • Expertly sew side and bottom hems with straight, consistent stitching, ensuring all finished dimensions are accurate.
  • Precisely measure and attach header tapes and buckram according to work order specifications.
  • Press seams, hems, and finished panels with an iron to create a crisp, professional appearance.
  • Insert weights into drapery corners to ensure proper hang and drape.
  • Collaborate effectively with other assemblers, cutters, and quality checkers on the production line to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Conduct in-line quality checks on your own work to ensure it meets our exacting standards before passing it to the next station.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Prefered: Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines in a professional production environment.
  • Required: Strong ability to read and use a tape measure or ruler for precise measurements.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle a wide range of fabric types and weights.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing neat, high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production line setting.
  • Consistency and focus while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Previous experience in a drapery or textile workroom is a significant plus.
