The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations and assist with maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities. This role is responsible for general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial reporting.
- Track prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization.
- Assist with rent collections and tenant accounting activities.
- Support audits and special accounting projects as needed.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to improve processes and maintain compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience working in a multi-entity environment.
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
- CPA is a plus but not required.
- Commercial real estate or property management accounting.
- Rent collections, depreciation, amortization, and prepaid expense accounting.
