Summary
Function:
Performs radiologic procedures (CT and X-ray) using ionizing radiation through computerized (CR or DR) processing while providing quality patient care and technical skills for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
$4k sign‑on bonus
Qualifications- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent plus graduation from an approved education program in radiologic technology. - Experience:
Preferred – 2 years as a Radiologic Technologist. - Licensure/Certification:
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist license – Texas Department of State Health Services
- Current BLS (CPR) training
- Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs.
- Ability to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching.
- Ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently and/or 10 lbs constantly.
- Ability to exert force of up to 30 lbs constantly, up to 40 lbs occasionally and up to 100 lbs rarely.
Patient care environment with Category 1 exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, radiation, and/or high‑energy magnetic fields.
Essential Job FunctionsPerforms both routine and difficult CT and X‑rays. Processes images and patient information through RIS and PACS, or other hard‑copy parameters. Receives and explains procedures to patients. Positions patients and selects and sets technical factors for DR and CR processing. Assures sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters or other equipment are readily available and the radiologic room is set up properly. Prepares and administers contrast material (oral, IV, or by enema) as directed by a radiologist.
