Forklift Operator, Material Handler
Overview
Responsible for material picks for Inter Company Transfers, Service Order Requests, and PO's. Assigns LPs to material, crates/package material for safe and organized transport, and performs other warehouse duties to support the success of perpetual inventory, 5S, and all safety policies by following established operating procedures.

- Picks the material for transfers, PO’s, and service orders that are released by the Coordinator.
- Complies with Divisional and Plant Safety policies.
- Assigns LPs for parts picked, labels LP with part# and attaches to shipping paperwork.
- Loads/unloads transfer orders and PO’s. Service order material placed in Service Rack for pick up.
- Obtains signature for transfers, PO’s and scans PO’s to shipping department to have work closed.
- Completes inventory transactions to receive and issue inventory as required.
- Properly identifies and locates all parts according to established procedures.
- Completes equipment maintenance checklist.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by embracing and displaying LCI’s Core Values and working with your team and other departments to identify and celebrate wins.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Ability to operate a forklift is required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to other team members of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of inventory and manufacturing software;
Microsoft software, D365, and understanding of the mobile device and scanner.
This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.
Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, balance, reach, handle, and climb throughout the day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The work environment involves moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, conveyor roller lines, and outdoor weather conditions in all seasons.
Noise level is usually moderate to loud. Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and wet work may occur. Personal protective equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut‑resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear will be provided. Steel‑toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards are required but not included.
This is a full‑time hourly position; hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.
TravelThere is no travel required for this position.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- High school degree or GED.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- LCI Forklift License Required (Offered once hired).
Education and Experience
- 1–3 months related work experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
