Aboutthe Role
The Industrial Engineer optimizes containment production systems by integrating workers, machinery, materials, and data to boost efficiency and reduce waste. This role bridges the gap between initial product design and actual factory floor production, driving continuous improvement and ensuring that output consistently meets cost and quality standards.
What You Will Do- Process Optimization
:
Design, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing workflows, workstation layouts, and material flow to maximize throughput. - Lean Manufacturing & Op Ex :
Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen events, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to eliminate non‑value‑added activities. - Time & Labor Studies
:
Conduct time and motion studies to develop labor standards, cycle times, and capacity models. - Ergonomics & Safety
:
Design and redesign work spaces to be ergonomically friendly, reducing repetitive motions, human error, and workplace hazards. - New Product Introduction (NPI):
Partner with cross‑functional teams to develop and validate manufacturing processes and tooling for new products. - Data Analysis & Cost Control
:
Monitor operational KPIs, analyze production data, and estimate production costs to justify equipment purchases and capital projects.
- Education
:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. - Experience
: 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial production or manufacturing environment, with direct application of OpEx or Lean methodologies. - Methodologies
:
Strong practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. - Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works) and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, Power BI). - Systems
:
Familiarity with ERP/MES software (such as SAP, Oracle, or Epicor).
MIE Trak Pro experience is a plus!
- Strong analytical and quantitative critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Proven experience implementing lean projects from inception to completion.
- Effective cross‑functional collaboration with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Design Engineering teams.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication, including the ability to present findings to stakeholders at all levels.
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously.
- Comfort working both on the production floor and with desktop analysis and modeling tools.
This position is based on‑site within a manufacturing facility and requires regular time spent on the production floor, including exposure to typical manufacturing environments (noise, equipment, and moving machinery).
