Craftsman / Handyman Part Time/ Moonlighter
Part-time Waxahachie, TX On-site $28 - $32/hr
Role OverviewAre you an experienced tradesperson looking to earn extra income on your own terms? If you love working with your hands but hate the hassle of marketing, bidding, scheduling, and chasing down customer payments, this part-time moonlighter position is designed for you. We handle the business operations-scheduling, customer service, and billing-so you can focus entirely on your craft.
This role offers high flexibility, making it ideal for skilled professionals looking to fill gaps in their schedule, firefighters or municipal workers on rotating shifts, retirees looking to stay active, or independent contractors wanting reliable supplemental income. You will service residential and light commercial customers in and around the Waxahachie area, completing a variety of small-to-medium home repairs and improvement projects.
What Success Looks LikeOn a day-to-day basis, you will review your scheduled jobs through our mobile app, show up on time to the customer's property, and evaluate the project. You will talk through the plan with the customer to ensure you are both on the same page, complete the work safely and efficiently, and clean up the work area when you are done. Your jobs will typically range from quick two-hour repairs to full-day projects, including light carpentry, drywall patching, fixture installations, and general home maintenance.
Over time, success in this role means building a reputation as a trusted local expert. You will consistently receive positive customer feedback, maintain high-quality standards, and represent the brand with integrity. Your reliability and craftsmanship will encourage customers to request you by name for their future projects.
What You Need to Bring (Must-Haves)- Multi-trade experience: Practical, hands-on experience in home maintenance, remodeling, or general repairs (such as basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, tiling, and minor plumbing or electrical work).
- Your own tools: A reliable set of hand and power tools suitable for everyday residential repairs.
- Reliable transportation: A work truck, van, or SUV capable of safely transporting your tools and occasionally small materials to job sites.
- Communication skills: The ability to speak clearly and professionally with homeowners, explain repairs simply, and provide excellent customer service.
- Documentation: A valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and the ability to pass a background check.
- Prior experience working in professional property maintenance or residential remodeling.
- Comfort using a smartphone or tablet to view schedules, upload before-and-after photos, and process customer payments.
- Flexibility: We work with your existing schedule. You tell us when you are available to work, and we book jobs within those windows.
- No administrative headaches: We handle the marketing, customer inquiries, job estimating, scheduling, and billing. You show up, do the work, and get paid.
- Support and safety: We provide full liability and workers' compensation insurance while you are on our job sites, alongside a supportive office team to help resolve any on-site issues.
