Position Summary
We are looking for a talented Unified Communications Specialist to join our international faith-based organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our unified communications systems, ensuring seamless and efficient communication across the organization. This is a volunteer/supported position and a member of the Information & Digital Technologies team reporting to the AVL Manager.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage unified communications solutions, including VoIP, video conferencing, instant messaging, and collaboration tools.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of communication systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to unified communications infrastructure.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate communication systems with existing networks and applications.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect communication systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Provide training and support to end-users on the use of unified communications tools.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and upgrades.

- Proven experience as a Unified Communications Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and other communication protocols.
- Experience with unified communications platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or Zoom.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Collaboration, Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator) are a plus.
