Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), performs professional accounting and financial support functions to ensure the accurate processing, recording, and reporting of financial transactions. Responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing and reconciling accounts, processing deposits and journal entries, and supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Assists with month-end and year-end closing processes, prepares financial reports and supporting documentation, monitors account balances and expenditures for compliance with budgets and funding requirements, and maintains accurate inventory records within the financial management system.
Ensures financial documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready; assists with internal and external audits; and responds to inquiries regarding financial transactions. Interprets and applies established accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality of financial information. Performs other related accounting and financial support duties as assigned.
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Accounting Technician Trainee (FIT
019) or position equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and one year of professional accounting experience. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
