Shop and Equipment Parts Runner

The Scruggs Company is a paving contractor, operating in the Waycross, Georgia, with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Georgia. The Shop & Equipment Part Runner will work closely with the Shop, Milling, Asphalt, and Maintenance Teams to ensure company-owned parts, tools, equipment and vehicles are stocked at the required locations throughout eastern Georgia with direction provided by his/her direct manager.

The ideal candidate has experience with the understanding of paving equipment.

• Transport parts and equipment between various locations throughout eastern Georgia for pickups and deliveries.
• Assist with organization and inventory of parts
• Assist with ensuring that the shop area is neat, clean and orderly, all tools are stored in their proper place, the shop surfaces are free of trash and debris.
• Take part in washing and cleaning equipment as needed.
• Additional responsibilities as may be assumed or assigned from time to time in support of our company's effort to achieve client loyalty.

• Applicant must be 18+ years of age
• Active GA driver's license with clean record required

• Exhibit excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize various tasks and complete them in a timely manner
• Able to perform duties independently
• Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred
• Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA regulations, a plus

• Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required
• Travel WILL be required as our operations span throughout eastern Georgia
• Work will be performed in both a general warehouse environment as well as a construction site and roadside environments, which could include but not be limited to inclement weather, heat and humidity, exposure to dust and asphalt, and active roadways.
• Must be able to move over rough terrain on project sites
• Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
• Proper PPE is required at all times.
• Requires periodic participation and attendance at company events and meetings
• This position is FULL TIME
