Bilingual Teaching Assistant (Spanish/English)

Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Spanish speaking Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of our adolescent learners.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Knowledge of the developmental needs of pre/adolescents and adolescents, including their academic, social, and emotional needs
• Ability to support subject areas (social studies and Spanish language arts) in Spanish
• Experience in special education and supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Provide academic support to students with special needs in both specialized and general education settings
• Support access to curriculum in English Language Arts, science, social studies, and mathematics
• Adapt and scaffold instructional materials to meet individual student needs
• Assist students in organizing and managing academic workload and classroom participation
• Support student participation in classroom routines and activities
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement instructional and behavioral supports
• Monitor and support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Participate in training to support student physical and/or behavioral needs
• Work collaboratively with school and district staff to ensure equitable access to learning
• Contribute as a collaborative member of the Student Services team

• Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience working with middle school students is highly preferred.

• Advanced Degree:
  Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

• Hours: 32 hours per week
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:40am-3:15pm
• Wednesday: 8:40am-2:30pm
• Salary: $23.63-$30.29 an hour
