Bilingual Teaching Assistant (Spanish/English)
Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Spanish speaking Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of our adolescent learners.
Duties and Responsibilities- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Knowledge of the developmental needs of pre/adolescents and adolescents, including their academic, social, and emotional needs
- Ability to support subject areas (social studies and Spanish language arts) in Spanish
- Experience in special education and supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Provide academic support to students with special needs in both specialized and general education settings
- Support access to curriculum in English Language Arts, science, social studies, and mathematics
- Adapt and scaffold instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Assist students in organizing and managing academic workload and classroom participation
- Support student participation in classroom routines and activities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement instructional and behavioral supports
- Monitor and support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Participate in training to support student physical and/or behavioral needs
- Work collaboratively with school and district staff to ensure equitable access to learning
- Contribute as a collaborative member of the Student Services team
- Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working with middle school students is highly preferred.

Education and Experience- Advanced Degree:

- Hours: 32 hours per week
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:40am-3:15pm
- Wednesday: 8:40am-2:30pm
- Salary: $23.63-$30.29 an hour
