Position: Teaching Assistant, Happy Hollow
Position Summary: Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide academic support to students in classroom and small-group settings
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities and lessons
- Support students in completing assignments and classroom projects
- Help prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials and classroom resources
- Facilitate student participation in classroom activities and routines
- Reinforce classroom expectations and positive behavior strategies
- Assist with classroom management and supervision as directed by the classroom teacher
- Supervise students and program activities as directed by the immediate supervisor
- Support students' social-emotional development and foster positive peer interactions
- Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and school staff to support student success
- Communicate with families regarding classroom activities when appropriate and directed by the classroom teacher or administrator
- Participate in training and professional development as required
- Work collaboratively with district and school staff to promote equitable access and address systemic barriers
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children is highly preferred.

- Hours: 30.08 per week
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:45am-2:30pm
- Wednesday: 7:30am-1:35pm
- Salary: $25.63-$33.89 per hour
