Position SummaryIn an effort to help better assist METCO students as they transition from the middle school to high school, we are seeking three content area teachers. Priority will be given to 9th‑grade ELA, Geometry, or Biology teachers. The goal is to foster better student skills, build relationships with staff, and familiarize students with the increased academic expectations that will come with the transition.
The program will run for two weeks from August 10 – August 21 at Wayland High School from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm.
- Collaborate with the METCO Summer Transitions Program Team.
- Teach a course or enrichment class.
- Participate in Friday field trips.
- Join the opening and/or closing circle and community lunch.
- Perform additional responsibilities as scheduled with individual staff members.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s preferred. Interested TAs are encouraged to apply. - Experience: Previous experience working with 9th graders is highly preferred.

Work Schedule and Compensation- Hours: Full program hours are 8:30 am – 2:30 pm.
- Dates: August 10–21, 2026, Monday – Friday.
- Salary: $65.67 (Teacher) / $29.48 (Teaching Assistant).
- * Flexibility available for interested teachers to cover time needed for instruction and academic support only.
