WSM is a thriving school with a local reputation for excellence, in a town that values music education, and with no other full Suzuki program nearby. We currently serve about 250 families, and enrollment continues to grow. – We seek the following to replace faculty moving out of state:
1) an experienced Suzuki piano teacher to take over studio of 20+ hours/30 students, Suzuki and traditional, currently M-F;
2) an experienced Suzuki cello teacher for about 5 hours/10 students, Suzuki and traditional.
Teach private lessons and possible group classes (depending on availability). Prepare students for recitals.
- Work with both Suzuki and traditional students.
- Possibility of advanced students, chamber music coaching.
- School year (Sept – mid-June): 37 lessons; summer: any week(s) per teacher & student preference.

- Start summer or fall 2026 (possibly sooner with some students).
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance or Music Education.
- Piano:
Suzuki registered through Book 3 minimum (higher preferred). - Cello:
Suzuki registered through Book 2 minimum (higher preferred). - 8
-10 years professional teaching experience. - Enthusiasm, sense of humor, “on the spot” creativity.
- Strong performance skills and credits.
- Commitment to continued growth as both teacher and musician.
- Willingness to be part of a team working together to build a strong program.
- Ability to teach second instrument a bonus.
Current hourly rate, 2025-26 school year (rates for next year will be set in July):
Private lessons $60.50, chamber music $66, group classes $72.
- Recitals and events also paid.
- We also reimburse 50% for further Suzuki training.
