Ordinance Officer

Ordinance Officer (Full Time) - 37.5 hours/week Job Responsibilities

• Maintain standard records and thorough documentation.
• Review and enforce municipal codes and ordinances.
• Assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Communicate with others to exchange information.
• Operate motor vehicles as required.
• Move from one work site to another to accomplish tasks.
• Perform primarily sedentary work involving sitting or standing for prolonged periods.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good public relations and ability to maintain good communication skills both orally and written.
• Ability to understand criminal and civil law, court procedures, municipal ordinances, codes, and specifications.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Experience maintaining standard records and thorough documentation.
• Minimum of one year of experience relating to the review and enforcement of codes and ordinances or equivalent.
• Experience with computers and BS&A software.

• Occasional work in low and high temperatures.
• Exposure to noisy conditions and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Classification
: 29A. Pay rate $25.117; after 3 years $29.588.
