HR Coordinator Needed!
Location: Wayne, MI
Pay Rate: $32.43/hour
Status: Fully Onsite
A manufacturing facility in Wayne, MI is seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to support and administer employee attendance and leave programs. This role serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the National Attendance Program (NAP), ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and applicable regulations.
This position is ideal for an HR professional with strong labor relations experience who is comfortable working across shifts and partnering closely with operations and union leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary administrator for the National Attendance Program (NAP), including:
- Family & Medical Leave (FMLA)
- Medical Leaves of Absence (MLOA)
- Attendance and tardiness tracking
- Interpret and apply National Agreement and local contract language related to attendance and discipline
- Investigate employee attendance records using HRIS and timekeeping systems li>
- Prepare and distribute daily attendance status and progress reports to operations leadership and UAW stakeholders
- Conduct meetings and administer corrective action in accordance with contract language
- Maintain accurate and compliant FMLA documentation
- Lead the 10-Day Quit process
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for line management on attendance policy interpretation
- Partner with operations, UAW representatives, labor relations, and medical departments
- Track, follow up, and close open attendance and tardiness cases
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline attendance-related processes
Audit and correct attendance and leave codes (personal days, bereavement, jury duty, military leave, FMLA, medical leave, etc.)
- Microsoft Excel (reporting and tracking)
- HRIS and timekeeping systems
- Conflict management and professional communication
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- 1+ year of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of attendance programs, leave administration, and labor agreements preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion
- This position is fully onsite
- While the role may be assigned to an afternoon shift, candidates must be flexible and available to work all shifts, including:
