We are hiring a highly skilled HR Specialist
- Attendance & Leave to support a fast‑paced manufacturing facility in Wayne, MI. This temporary role is ideal for experienced HR and Labor Relations professionals with strong knowledge of attendance programs, union environments, and employee relations.
- Administer the National Attendance Program (NAP) in compliance with UAW Collective Bargaining Agreements and company policies
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for attendance, FMLA, medical leaves, and bereavement
- Conduct corrective action hearings and issue progressive discipline, up to termination
- Audit timekeeping systems (TWOS) to ensure accurate attendance and leave coding
- Partner with UAW representatives and operations leaders to resolve attendance issues and grievances
- Analyze attendance data and trends to improve workforce reliability
- Manage documentation to support labor relations and legal compliance
- Facilitate job abandonment processes and employee offboarding
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or related field
- Experience in union manufacturing environments and labor relations preferred
- Strong conflict resolution, communication, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HRIS systems, and timekeeping tools (SAP, Kronos, Oracle, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
