Overview / Summary
Manufacturing IT Support Engineer Support Associate is responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operations of physical and virtual servers, private cloud environments, networks, PCs, and other business‑critical infrastructure components. This role supports internal users, troubleshoots and escalates infrastructure‑related issues, maintains system availability, and assists with user system setup and configuration.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, telecommunications, and virtualization platforms.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Configure and maintain networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless access points, and QoS configurations.
- Establish and maintain data backup and recovery procedures to support business continuity.
- Monitor enterprise systems, identify potential issues, and proactively resolve problems to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Analyze system capacity and performance trends and provide recommendations for future infrastructure needs.
- Perform routine network maintenance and system upgrades, including patches, service packs, hot fixes, and enhancements.
- Design and implement infrastructure automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues escalated by support teams and document resolutions in the knowledge repository.
- Set up and configure user systems, including operating systems, software applications, and hardware devices.
- Provide technical support for IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, and end‑user productivity tools.
- Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to prioritize improvement initiatives.
- Support incident resolution, escalation management, business continuity activities, and cross‑functional technical teams.
- Assist with the integration, deployment, and long‑term maintenance of applications and hardware.
- Develop, maintain, and share accurate support documentation.
- Support local network equipment in a Cisco‑based environment.
- Support physical and virtual server environments running Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Assist with emerging technology deployments and infrastructure expansion initiatives.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT Operations, Operations Support Systems, IT Support, Technical Support, Technical Troubleshooting, or Technical Customer Support.
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of networking technologies and infrastructure support.
- Experience supporting Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
