Job Title
This individual is responsible for setting up mixing tanks and blending machines for production support of the production lines per instructions from the department supervisor in a manner that is timely and safe in accordance with all quality standards per batch mixing work orders and mixing instructions. This individual will also fill drums with blended product when needed. This individual will work with minimal supervision but also contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities also include safe operation of equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.), raw material handling and measuring, communication with material handlers, and sampling of raw materials for the purpose of providing Certificates of Analysis, updated SDS and other documents for the Lab Technician. This position also provides input to the Blending Manager on process improvements within the facility.
Position Qualifications
High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience.Previous experience mixing / blending chemicals.Highly dependable.Ability to think through minor problems and work with management to solve larger problems.Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product recipes, material identification, etc.Able to manipulate 55 gallon drums of chemicals.Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Able to perform these operations using weight and volume measurements.Able to drive a fork lift – have a valid fork lift certification.Attention to detail and good mechanical skills.Position
Job Duties Ensure all safety policies and procedures are adhered to in the plant.Works with minimal input from the Senior Compo under.Sets up and start all mixing tanks and blenders.Product line support.Obtains and understands all documentation for making batches. Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch.Accurately adding chemicals/ powders into blend tanks and ribbon blender tanks in predetermined quantities.Operates equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.) safely.Monitors raw material usage on each blend are added correctly with right weights.Ensures all raw materials returned to inventory have the right quantity and information on containers and containers are in good condition.Follows lab instructions regarding logging of samples to Quality, batch approval, adjustments, and any additional requirements.
