Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

Wayne, NJ Area | Full-Time | Onsite

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Wayne, NJ area, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This onsite role is ideal for an accounting professional with manufacturing experience who enjoys partnering with operations to improve financial performance and drive process efficiencies.

• Maintain standard cost accounting systems and analyze manufacturing variances.
• Reconcile raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory.
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end close.
• Partner with production leadership to analyze costs, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
• Support physical inventory counts and internal/external audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Dynamics GP.
• CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is highly preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
