Adjunct Faculty – College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Department of History, Philosophy and Liberal Studies. This position supports undergraduate instruction both online and in person. Remote‑friendly hybrid work schedule is available. Roles may encompass up to six credit hours per semester.
Courses Taught- Foundations of Civilization
- The Early Modern World
- The Modern World
- U.S. History Through Reconstruction
- Introduction to Philosophy
- Ethics
- Philosophy of Technology
- Philosophy of Religion
- Develop syllabi, course content, objectives, and assessment methods using provided outlines.
- Teach up to six credit hours per semester in assigned courses.
- Support student success through mentoring, role modeling, and availability for student questions.
- Conduct instruction both online and in person according to course schedule.
- Earned Master’s or PhD in History, Philosophy, or related field.
- Ability to teach in person and/or online.
- Preferred:
One or more semesters teaching at higher education; experience teaching both online and in person. - Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, assessment strategies, continuous professional development, patience, and resourcefulness.
- Interest in promoting student community life through campus events.
Pay is based on per‑credit rates:
- New employees – $2,100 per credit.
- Employees with 13+ semesters at WP – $2,175 per credit.
Position may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
