Position Summary

The Department of Art is seeking a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Graphic Design and Interactive Media Instructor to begin August 15, 2025. The role is located within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in graphic design, digital arts, and interactive media.
  • Design and deliver course content in multiple modalities, including online instruction.
  • Support students as an advisor and mentor, and serve on graduate student committees.
  • Manage the maintenance and organization of graphic design studio spaces and classrooms.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop and refine courses and curricula.
  • Participate in the Foundation Portfolio Review Process and assessment of student learning.
  • Attend department and college meetings and engage in professional development activities to remain current in the field.
  • Perform other teaching or administrative duties as required by departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts with a focus on Graphic Design and Interactive Media.
  • Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite and related software.
  • Evidence of active professional practice or potential for professional activity.
  • Fluency in design pedagogy and the ability to integrate contemporary creative concepts into the curriculum.
  • Proficiency with online teaching platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of teaching experience.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Grade 22: $64,760.85 – $ (annual). The position may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
