William Paterson University is inviting applications for an adjunct faculty position in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences within the Language, Literature, Culture, and Writing Department’s Program in Writing and Rhetoric.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop a course syllabus and course content using materials provided by the writing program, consistent with best practices in the discipline.
- Teach a workshop‑based writing course with heavy emphasis on developing and revising essays over several drafts.
- Contribute to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance.
- Required: Earned Master’s or PhD in English or a related field.
- Preferred: One or more years teaching in higher education and some academic background in writing studies (e.g., coursework, pedagogy workshops, or other training).
- New employees – $2100 per credit.
- Employees who have worked for 13+ semesters at WP – $2175 per credit.
This position may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
