Residence Life Coordinator For Engagement And Assessment

The Residence Life Coordinator for Engagement and Assessment is a full-time, 12-month, live-on professional position serving the Office of Residence Life. This position is supervised by the Assistant Director for Student Success and Engagement and ultimately reports to the Director of Residence Life.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees the management of the Residential Engagement Badge Collaborates with the College Transition Coordinator and other Academic Success Center staff to assess and implement student success initiatives in the residence halls including intervention strategies, success workshops and residence hall study hours.
  • Establishes a first-year peer mentorship program.
  • Assists with planning, implementing and assessing large-scale department events and collaborations.
  • Oversees the distribution and analysis of the bi-annual EBI survey and annual Residential Engagement Survey.
  • Hosts resident feedback sessions and makes recommendations to department leadership based on this assessment data.
  • Manages department social media account(s) including creating new and consistent content regarding engagement and department processes.
  • Works with department leadership and University Marketing & Public Relations to create marketing materials including print and video for You Tube and the department website.
  • Works with department leadership and IRT to create informational and how-to videos on a variety of residential processes.
  • Creates and updates department marketing materials for openings, closings, selection, events, orientation, etc.
  • Updates department standard signage for the halls including important policy reminders, tips and strategies for living in community.
  • Oversees or assists with recognition initiatives including, but not limited to, resident recognition, Administrative Professional's Day, Boss's Day, Custodial Appreciation, RA Appreciation Week and the annual staff banquet.
  • Works with the Assistant Director to create and update virtual training videos and materials.
  • Assists with planning and running annual student staff cross training.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and improve residential student experience.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and regular one on one supervision meetings.
  • Participates in nightly on-call rotation as second-tier support for graduate staff; respond to crisis situations on campus, as needed.
  • Complies with all university employee related reporting requirements, procedures and trainings.
  • Works evenings and weekends as needed; this position may require periodic work in early mornings, in late evenings and on weekends, as necessary, especially during student training and hall preparation periods.
  • Participates in and is present for critical Student Development events, including (but not limited to) Division Meetings, Orientation, Admissions Events, Tailgating, Homecoming, Residence Life Training, Move-in, Housing Selection, Student Staff Selection, Move-out, etc.
