Required:

Valid New Jersey Principal Certificate or Supervisor Certificate. Minimum experience as determined by the Board of Education. Demonstrates effective language skills, math skills, and reasoning ability. Ability to understand and generate written memorandums, routine reports, and correspondence. Ability to work effectively with principals, students, staff, parents, outside agencies and community groups. Ability to speak effectively to groups and individuals. Ability to clearly explain the details of the state testing programs and reporting requirements.

Required criminal history background clearance and proof of ability to legally work within the United States. Ability to understand and interpret for others data test results and reporting requirements and statistical information. Must be computer literate.

Assistant Superintendent

Job Goal:
Assumes responsibility for the completion of and submission of all grant applications and the management of all awarded grant funds and grant funded programs. Coordinates all programs related to Multilingual Learners, Counseling, and Intervention Services. Coordinates the planning and delivery related to all State testing programs. Serves as District Anti-Bullying Coordinator, and leads the development and implementation of multi-tiered systems of support intervention programs, behavioral and social-emotional learning and attendance initiatives.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Federal and state education programs
    • Ensures the accurate completion and timely submission of all grant applications.
    • Manages all grant funds, including Title I, II, III and IV and Perkins.
    • Coordinates all parental communication, including letters and program invitations and notifications, in conjunction with the building principals.
  • State testing programs, including NJSLA, NJGPA, & ACCESS
    • Responsible for remaining current on all State testing protocols, procedures and requirements.
    • Prepares all required reports related to State testing programs; submits as required.
    • Responsible for the collection, analysis, dissemination and presentation of all student performance data collected by the school district.
  • District Anti-Bullying Coordinator
    • Collaborates with school level Anti-Bullying Specialists (ABS), Superintendent and Board to prevent, identify and respond to HIB of students.
    • Files required State reports on a timely basis.
    • Prepares, organizes and conducts training to ensure compliance with HIB policy and law.
    • Addresses parent inquiries related to HIB investigations and Board policy.
  • Counseling
    • Provide leadership and oversight for the district's comprehensive school counseling program.
    • Coordinate counseling initiatives related to academic planning, college and career readiness, social-emotional development, crisis response, and student wellness.
    • Collaborate with building administrators to ensure access to counseling services for all students.
  • Intervention Services
    • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide intervention systems, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
    • Ensure timely identification and support of students experiencing academic, behavioral, attendance, or social-emotional challenges.
    • Coordinate intervention teams and processes across schools to promote consistency and effectiveness.
    • Ensure access to intervention services and resources for all students.
  • Multilingual Learner Programming
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services for multilingual learners (MLs).
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing language instruction educational programs.
    • Coordinate identification, placement, progress monitoring, and reclassification processes for multilingual learners.
    • Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and families to promote meaningful engagement and support for multilingual learners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and Business Administrator.

Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education. Annual Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on the evaluation of certificated staff.
