Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of the Office of Field Experiences and Partnerships, the Assistant Director for the Office of Field Experiences and Partnerships supports the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical experiences and school-university partnerships within William Paterson University's College of Education. Working collaboratively with faculty, P–12 school partners, clinical supervisors, and Professors in Residence, the Assistant Director helps ensure high-quality field experiences that prepare educator candidates for success in diverse educational settings.

Key responsibilities include assisting with the management of clinical placement processes, collecting and analyzing program data, supporting accreditation and reporting efforts, facilitating alternate route clinical procedures, conducting candidate data audits to ensure clinical readiness, coordinating recruitment and onboarding of clinical supervisors and Professors in Residence, and serving as a primary point of communication for candidates and school partners. The Assistant Director also leads the Aspiring Educators Summer Program and contributes to the development and sustainability of innovative school-university partnerships that strengthen educator preparation and advance student success.

The Office of Field Experiences and Partnerships develops and supports School-University Partnerships and implements quality clinical experiences in the context of documented and effective partnerships with P-12 schools and districts through a long-standing, extensive professional development school network, input from P-12 schools and districts through the School-University Partnership Advisory Council, extensive and scaffolded initial teacher licensure candidate experience in diverse clinical settings, clinical assessment of traditional, alternate route, and advanced licensure candidates in diverse clinical settings, and enactment of a system that relies upon quality sites with selected and prepared clinical educators, experienced and trained clinical supervisors, and highly supported clinical candidates.
