In-Home Math Tutor

Jon B Tutoring is seeking reliable, high-performing tutors to provide one-on-one, in-home math instruction for K–12 students, including SAT/ACT preparation. This is a part-time role with hours that grow over time based on performance and availability.

You’ll work directly with students in their homes, helping them improve academically while building confidence and effective learning habits. All curriculum, structure, and students are provided—you focus on execution.

• Starting at $30/hour
• Increased pay for sessions requiring extended travel (30+ minutes)
• Opportunities for higher rates based on subject expertise and performance
• Part-time: 4–20 hours per week (hours grow over time)
• Typical hours: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM (weekdays)
• Weekend availability is a strong plus
• Expected caseload: ~5–10 students
• Session length are between 1-2 hours.

• Tutoring takes place in students’ homes across Passaic and Bergen County and nearby counties.
• Most sessions are within 30 minutes of your home
• Reliable transportation is required

• Provide personalized, one-on-one instruction in core K–12 Math and/or Math SAT/ACT prep
• Follow structured lesson plans and adapt to each student’s learning style
• Build strong rapport with students and maintain an engaging learning environment
• Track progress and reinforce effective study strategies

• Students assigned to you
• Curriculum, structure, and teaching framework
• Short training on proven tutoring methodologies before starting

• Strong academic background across K–12 subjects and/or standardized test prep
• Must be capable of scoring 700+ on SAT Math
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
