Job Description

Responsible for performing routine exams in either an inpatient and/or outpatient setting in accordance with established protocols for positioning, image quality, and radiation safety. The inpatient setting may also include assignment to specialty areas requiring a radiologic technologist, such as the ED, OR, or Fluoroscopy. Utilizes a variety of specialized equipment to produce radiographic and fluoroscopic images, including scanners, power injectors, computers and various software programs to enter patient–related information into hospital databases.

Contributes to overall excellence of the department through commitment to personal excellence in technical and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and ARRT registration (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RDMS registration (Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registry) or CCI certificate (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) in each appropriate modality within twelve months of hire. State of New Jersey licensure in the appropriate modality is required. Requires analytical ability to resolve problems using basic mathematical or technical principles and in‑depth experience‑based knowledge.

Requires the ability to explain clinical, technical, and diagnostic procedures to patients and their families.
