Description
We are an Endocrinology practice located in Wayne, NJ . . We are part of Advocare a large physician organization. We are 1 MD , 1 partiime NP and 1 partime RD. We treat patients with a variety of Endocrinology issues such as obesity, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and other hormonal disorders. We take immense pride in treating each patient with utmost care and attention.
Certified Medical Assistant Responsibilities:- Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms
- Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating
- Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary
- Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
- Counseling patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about the treatment
- Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
- Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
- Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
- Understanding Microsoft Office
- Lab call back
- Sending refills
- Phlebotomy and processing lab samples
- Helping physician scribe 1x a week
- Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in administrative tasks
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
- Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response
- Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
