Recreation Aide PT

Do you enjoy bringing energy, positivity, and a little fun to the people around you? Avalon Rehab & Care Center is looking for a Recreation Aide to join our team and help create meaningful, engaging experiences for our residents.

In this role, you’ll help plan and facilitate recreational activities that encourage socialization, creativity, movement, and connection. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to build genuine relationships with residents and make their days brighter.

Schedule:
Wednesdays through Sundays: 2PM to 7PM

• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who may prefer individualized engagement

• Help prepare activity materials, supplies, and the activity area

• Encourage resident interaction and participation in a positive, welcoming environment

• Assist with special events, holiday programs, and community activities

• Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and compassionate manner

• Observe resident preferences and interests and communicate them to the Recreation/Activities team

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting activity environment

• Follow facility policies and resident safety guidelines

• Friendly, energetic, and genuinely enjoys working with seniors

• Creative and comfortable coming up with fun activities and conversation starters

• Patient, compassionate, and dependable

• Comfortable working with individuals and small groups

• A strong communicator and positive team player

• Able to encourage participation while respecting each resident’s individual preferences

• Previous experience in recreation, activities, senior living, healthcare, childcare, hospitality, or customer service is a plus, but not required
