The Township is seeking a qualified, experienced, and hands-on Director of Public Buildings to oversee the maintenance, repair, operation, and general upkeep of Township-owned buildings and facilities. This working supervisory position requires the Director to actively perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting while supervising and scheduling staff, coordinating contractors and vendors, managing work orders, equipment, supplies, and maintenance records, and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities also include conducting facility inspections, responding to emergencies, assisting with operating and capital budgets, and ensuring that Township facilities remain safe, functional, well-maintained, and compliant with applicable codes and safety requirements. Candidates must possess substantial experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, construction, or a related field; demonstrated hands-on repair skills; supervisory experience; knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices;

strong organizational and communication skills; and a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Experience with municipal facilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, carpentry, contractor management, and relevant trade certifications is preferred. Health/dental benefits eligibility after 30 days of employment; paid time off; participation in NJ State pension. Salary: $110,000, negotiable based on experience
