Saint-Gobain Wayne, NJ is looking for a 2nd shift Forming Machine Operator. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11:30pm. Training will be on 1st shift, 7a-3:30p for approximately 3 months.

Responsibilities
  • Operates up to 3 machines simultaneously according to standard operating procedures, or special instruction from supervisor.
  • Trains to set up and operate Forming machine according to standard operating procedures and special instruction/assistance from supervisor, and established volume expectations as communicated by supervisor.
  • Performs 1st piece inspection after each setup.
  • Clears machine jams, makes adjustments as needed.
  • Performs SPC checks and procedures.
  • Disassembles and reassembles machines and replaces parts as required.
  • Monitors quality of product through 1st piece and final inspection as required.
  • Monitors and updates status of work orders.
  • Communicates and cooperates with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency and safety.
  • Clean and maintain machinery, tools, and work area as scheduled or as needed.
  • Maintains necessary records as required by SOPs and work instructions.
  • Visually observes, troubleshoots, and reports non‑conformance conditions (either product or process) to supervisor or manager as required.
  • Participates in self‑development and training of others.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor.
  • Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices.
  • Understands all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of area‑specific Saint‑Gobain products and processes.
  • Able to operate independently and as part of a team.
  • Tool repair and maintenance and one‑year experience in modifying Bihler and/or Finzer tooling machines.
  • Basic command of the English language, written and verbal.
  • Able to read and follow SOPs, labels and instructions and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated mechanical abilities, including use of measuring devices.
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical abilities.
  • Computer skills necessary to fulfill department requirements.
