Plant Manager

Position Overview

The Plant Manager oversees a manufacturing facility of 90‑100 employees, ensuring safety, quality, service and productivity targets while balancing customer needs and operational efficiency.

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations to meet safety, quality, service and production objectives.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives (lean, Kaizen, etc.) to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Drive EBITDA and cash‑flow targets through labor efficiency, inventory management and cost control.
• Execute Voice of Customer initiatives, achieve on‑time delivery, and uphold customer specifications.
• Maintain facility assets through preventive maintenance and reliability programs.
• Manage budget and spending, ensuring adherence to cost and provisioning of capital projects.
• Build and develop a high‑performance team, including hiring, training, evaluating and promoting staff.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

• 7–10 years of operational management experience in the packaging industry.
• Strong technical and problem‑solving skills, with a proven ability to lead process‑improvement teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to convey vision and mission.
• Strong interpersonal and motivational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web skills.
• Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
• Education:
  
  Four‑year degree preferred; compensatory work experience acceptable; master’s degree a plus.

• Language:
  Read, interpret, and write routine reports; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Mathematical:
  Perform basic calculations and interpret data.
• Reasoning:
  Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Mechanical:
  Understanding of mechanical equipment; capability to handle tools.
• Computer: SAP, MS Office, database use, and general office equipment.

• Typical 8‑hour Monday‑Friday shift; occasional alternate schedules, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Occasional overnight travel (flight, drive, rail).

• Sitting for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent twisting or bending, reaching above shoulder height.
• Ability to read, write, hear, see, speak and use computer skills.
• Work in environments with fluctuating temperature and noise.
• PPE:
  Steel‑toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, cut‑resistant gloves, hair net, beard net.
