Job Overview

Assembler – Wayne, NJ

Contract – 1st Shift (M-F 6 AM - 3:30 PM), 9/80 Schedule, $25.62/hr.

This role involves assembling electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, prints, wiring lists, diagrams, routing instructions, and process sheets using appropriate tooling and machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble parts using fasteners in the build‑up of electronic assemblies.
  • Verify results to ensure conformance with requirements and perform rework as needed.
  • Perform mechanical assembly operations in the build of electronic assemblies using standard measuring tools and techniques.
  • Perform electronic assembly operations such as wire termination, installation of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, relays, transformers, capacitors, resistors, or other electronic components.
  • Fabricate wires on a Jig Board (Harness Board) in accordance with specifications; create continuous laces, flat laces, and spot ties, wiring bundles and routings according to drawing requirements.
  • Prepare wires by routing, dressing, and terminating conductors to specified dimensions as per instructions.
  • Pre‑stage circuit card kits and form components using machine and hand devices, meeting general requirements and Manufacturing Control Specifications (MCS).
  • Perform masking operations prior to wave soldering or coating of circuit card assemblies (CCA); clean boards per MCS.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Skills
    • Interpret and understand instructions on process sheets, prints, or route cards.
    • Use hand tools (cutters, pliers, preformers, screwdrivers, etc.).
    • Identify electronic components and properly orient them into a circuit board according to polarity.
    • Use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
    • Have training or certification in IPC J‑STD
      001 and IPC
      610; individuals will be required to achieve specified solder certification in various assembly/soldering techniques per Company and customer standards.
    Required Experience

    Assembler soldering experience in conformance with IPC J‑STD
    001 and IPC
    610.

    Education

    High School/GED required; requires six (6) months of electronic assembly experience.

    Additional

    Ability or current clearance is a plus.
