Production Coordinator

Reports To:

Director, Manufacturing Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Production Coordinator to serve as the primary link between our Customer Service and Production teams. This role is responsible for reviewing customer orders, releasing jobs to production, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring timely communication between departments to meet customer delivery expectations.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Coordinate the flow of customer orders from Customer Service to Production.

Review incoming orders for accuracy, completeness, and production readiness.

Release work orders to manufacturing based on production capacity, material availability, and customer requirements.

Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure on-time delivery.

Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and order status updates to Customer Service and other stakeholders.

Monitor order progress throughout the manufacturing process and proactively address delays or bottlenecks.

Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Planning, Inventory, and Shipping teams to support efficient operations.

Update ERP/MRP systems with production schedules, order releases, and status changes.

Track key production metrics and generate reports as needed.

Assist in capacity planning and workload balancing across production departments.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling, workflow, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate's degree preferred.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, customer service, or operations coordination role.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred:

Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Knowledge of production planning and scheduling processes.

Familiarity with inventory control and supply chain operations.
