Job Overview

As a Merchandising Colleague - also known as a Support Colleague - you are responsible for providing a great shopping experience and driving sales and profit through customer service, accurate pricing and signing, and ensuring proper sales floor placement as well as accurate merchandise movement throughout the building. Operational duties include but are not limited to unloading trucks, assisting with floor moves, replenishing merchandise, monitoring shortage control, organizing the stockroom, and setting up and removing signs for promotional events/sales.

Throughout the day, they unload trucks, build furniture and fixtures, and place merchandise on the sales floor while supporting additional merchandise support tasks.

They always Finish Strong - They collaborate with the team to tie up loose ends - reorganizing the department, restocking merchandise, and preparing the space for a successful tomorrow.

Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. All schedules contain weekend shifts as part of the requirements. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability. • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
• Must be able to:
  • Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
  • Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
• Able to create connection with customers, help the store achieve sales goals, and participate in sales-boosting events
• Create a welcoming, friendly environment for customers and colleagues, fostering meaningful conversations and connections
• Effectively use technology and digital tools in support of receiving and merchandising tasks
• Work seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and across departments to drive sales and elevate the customer experience

Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform

• This position requires talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands
• Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting up to 50lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders, reaching, including above eye level
• Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
