• Oversee and coordinate the work of your assigned team.
• Ensure safe and efficient loading/unloading of trucks.
• Work under management guidance to allocate tasks and ensure manpower meets operational needs.
• Uphold safety practices in the operation of material handling equipment.
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and job methods.
• Provide valuable on-the-job training to team members.
• Lead pre-shift meetings in the supervisor's absence.
• Offer insights to management on employee development and conduct.
• Encourage open feedback and actively seek direction as needed.
• Regularly update management on team performance and job methods.
• Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred:
  Six months of experience in Fed Ex Freight operations.
• Experience in leading, coaching, or mentoring teams is a plus.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Skilled in prioritizing tasks and making quick, informed decisions.
• Excellent collaborative skills for effective teamwork.
• Ability to communicate well across various levels and backgrounds.
• Basic operational systems and Outlook knowledge.
• Physical capability to lift/carry freight of varying weights and perform lifting tasks.
• Basic math skills, including counting and basic calculations.
• Ability to read and understand shipping documents and labels.
• Physical abilities required include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, twisting, and squatting.

This role involves a mix of office and dock environments, with exposure to varied weather conditions, exhaust, dust, and noise. Flexibility in hours is essential to meet operational demands, with potential for weekend and different shift work. The pace is fast and deadline-driven.
