Description

Manager, Legal Operations & Contracts is a critical partner to the General Counsel and cross‑functional business leaders, responsible for scaling the company’s contracting function and legal operations infrastructure. This role owns the day‑to‑day execution of commercial contracting and the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of legal processes, systems, and metrics. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role with visibility across the business and the opportunity to help shape how legal services are delivered in a fast‑growing, data‑driven organization.

The role encompasses two major areas of responsibility:

• Legal Operations:
  Own and continuously improve legal intake, contract review, and approval workflows to support efficient, scalable deal execution. Serve as the primary administrator and business owner for legal technology tools, including the CLM platform and related AI‑enabled solutions.
• Contracts Management:
  Responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing standard contracts at the direction of the General Counsel, including application of standard contract playbooks and maintenance of the contracts repository.

• Identify key areas of improvement for the legal function and implement strategic solutions
• Develop internal processes to enhance cross‑functional collaboration and improve the delivery of legal services to internal stakeholders
• Define and report on legal operations KPIs, including contract cycle times, turnaround metrics, and stakeholder satisfaction
• Design and deliver training, guidelines, and best practices to internal stakeholder teams
• Provide project management and operational support to the General Counsel on strategic legal initiatives, as needed

• Develop standard templates, playbooks, and related contracting collateral with guidance from the General Counsel;
• Apply contract playbooks consistently throughout the negotiation process
• Independently negotiate contracts within approved templates and playbooks, identifying, flagging, and escalating deviations, novel risk positions, or material legal issues to the General Counsel
• Track contract status and internal approvals throughout contracting process with clients, vendors, data providers, and strategic partners, including management of vendor relationships and contract renewals
• Maintain and organize the contracts repository, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, version control, and ease of retrieval for executed agreements

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 5‑7 years of experience in contract management, legal operations, or project management, or equivalent legal training (J.D.)
• Experience with contracts and contract management tools, including contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms (e.g., checkbox.ai), approval workflows, e‑signature, and CRM tools
• Demonstrated interest working in technology and/or data; experience supporting SaaS, data licensing, or technology‑enabled services businesses preferred
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with product, finance, customer success, sales, and executive leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience leveraging data for reporting and decision‑making.
• Proficiency with or eagerness to learn and implement AI tools, including checkbox.ai
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills, professionalism, and project management abilities in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
