Overview of the Role

Hartford Funds is seeking an experienced Lead Account Manager to serve as the primary strategic owner of several of our most significant wealth management relationships. This role focuses on strengthening long‑term partnerships, supporting sustained growth, and ensuring Hartford Funds remains a trusted, well‑positioned partner across complex organizations.

The Lead Account Manager will play a key role in coordinating enterprise‑level engagement across assigned accounts, aligning Hartford Funds’ investment capabilities with partner firm priorities, and supporting consistent execution across the organization. In this role, you will serve as the center point and relationship lead across internal and external stakeholders, providing direction, continuity, strategic perspective, and leadership, while driving outcomes through a collaborative, team‑based approach.

Responsibilities And Job Results
  • Own and manage relationship with assigned national and large wealth management firms, serving as Hartford Funds’ primary strategic point of contact.
  • Develop and execute focused account plans that support organic growth through platform engagement, product expansion, model placements, and research advocacy.
  • Identify and advance new opportunities across existing and emerging channels, including incremental shelf expansion, third‑party model inclusion, ETFs, SMAs, and firm‑specific initiatives.
  • Maintain the health and stability of existing platform relationships by ensuring Hartford Funds’ strategies remain competitive, visible, and well‑supported.
  • Proactively manage platform risk by preparing for review cycles, addressing concerns, and working to mitigate potential downgrades or product removals.
  • Translate platform priorities into clear, actionable opportunities for distribution teams, supporting asset retention and advisor‑level adoption.
  • Increase Hartford Funds’ visibility through participation in key firm events, senior‑level meetings, and advisor‑facing initiatives.
  • Strengthen access across partner firms by supporting divisional engagement and facilitating connections between sales teams and home‑office decision‑makers.
  • Coordinate closely with sales leadership, Strategic Relationship Managers, and cross‑functional partners to ensure aligned strategy, shared intelligence, and consistent execution.
  • Represent Hartford Funds with professionalism and credibility, reinforcing long‑term partnerships and supporting a collaborative, results‑driven culture.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in asset management distribution, wealth management, or key account management, with direct responsibility for large or complex relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of national broker‑dealers, wirehouses, banks, and regional firm platforms, including their operating models and decision‑making processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, align multiple stakeholders, and drive follow‑through across teams.
  • Practical understanding of platform economics, product positioning, and due‑diligence expectations.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to engage both senior executives and internal partners.
  • Highly organized mindset with strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or industry designations preferred.
  • Collaborative, disciplined, and client‑centric approach that aligns with Hartford Funds’ culture and values.
  • Willingness to travel as needed in support of assigned accounts.
  • Series 7 & 63 required.
Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees.

Other rewards may include short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $175,000 - $200,000
