We are seeking a Director to join our dynamic construction management team. The Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing multiple construction projects, ensuring their successful execution from inception to completion. This leadership position requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
** We specialize in healthcare, life science, and higher education projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience growing teams and/or offices in addition to business development to expand the footprint of the office and company within the Philadelphia market. **
Key Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership and direction for assigned construction projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Develop and implement project strategies, objectives, and execution plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, and other team members to foster collaboration and professional growth.
- Coordinate with internal departments (design, estimating, procurement, etc.) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Resolve conflicts and address challenges within the project team effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs and delivering exceptional service.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and manage expectations.
- Ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor all aspects of project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality.
- Review and approve project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and payment applications.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
- Oversee project financials to ensure profitability while adhering to budget constraints.
- Track project costs against approved budgets and provide regular financial reports.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate billing and timely payments.
- Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, regulations, permits, and safety standards.
- Promote a culture of safety across all job sites by enforcing company policies and procedures.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new projects or repeat business with existing clients.
- Participate in proposal preparation and presentations for prospective clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management or related roles; at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial projects upwards of $100M
- MUST have project experience within healthcare and/or life science
