JOB SUMMARYWayne Art Center provides the opportunity for motivated, creative individuals to join our team for the 2026 Summer Art Camp season. The 2026 Summer Art Camp Intern works under the guidance of the Youth‑Teen Program Coordinator and provides support for classroom teachers and administrative staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced art center environment, learn essential skills, and contribute to the smooth operation of our Summer Art Camp program.
REPORTSTO
Youth‑Teen Program Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS- BFA candidate preferred
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in the visual arts and working with youth/teens
(Other duties may be assigned throughout the summer)
Key Responsibilities- Support classroom teachers with set‑up, clean‑up, materials preparation, and instruction
- Assist with camper check‑in, attendance, medical information, and daily operations
- Supervise students during lunch and transitions between activities
- Organize art supplies, studios, and storage areas
- Photograph camp activities and artwork; organize and upload images weekly
- Assist with social media content, promotional materials, signage, and database entry
- Serve as a substitute teacher when needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced art center

- Excellent customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain a high degree of confidentiality and ability to identify and avoid conflicts of interest
- Strong verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office. An aptitude for technology and ability to learn other platforms as needed
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and excellent follow‑through skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license and car or reliable source of transportation to Wayne Art Center
- Ability to obtain and provide background checks and clearances required before starting internship: PA Child Abuse, PA State Police and FBI Fingerprinting clearances
