St. David’s Episcopal Day School seeks a relational, grounded, and emotionally intelligent leader to serve as its next Head of School. Located in Wayne, Pennsylvania, SDEDS is a respected, parish-based early childhood program serving children in a warm, nurturing, and faith-informed learning environment. The school is known for its caring community, engaged families, dedicated faculty, and commitment to supporting the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic development of young children.

The Head of School serves as the educational, cultural, and operational leader of the school and is responsible for:

• Faculty leadership and professional development
• Instructional excellence and classroom support
• School culture and communication
• Parent and community engagement
• Partnership with church leadership
• Operational leadership and school-wide coordination

This role is highly relational and highly visible. The successful candidate will be an engaged presence within classrooms, among faculty, and throughout the broader school community.

• Build strong relationships with faculty, families, and church leadership
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional school culture
• Support and develop teachers through coaching and feedback
• Strengthen communication and collaborative practices across the school community
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the school day
• Partner effectively within a church-school governance structure
• Lead with steadiness, professionalism, and care

• Leadership experience in early childhood or elementary education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A deep understanding of child-centered learning environments
• Experience supervising and developing faculty/staff
• Strong organizational and operational instincts
• The ability to balance warmth with accountability
• Comfort working within a faith-based school environment

• Experience in Episcopal or faith-based education
• Experience with in a parish-school governance model
• Enrollment or school operations experience
• Experience supporting school growth, change management, or evolving school communities

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, aligned with market expectations for early childhood leadership roles in the Greater Philadelphia region.
