Campus Programming Advisor

The Campus Programming Advisor works closely with the Assistant Director of Campus Programming and two Graduate Assistants to support the Campus Activities Team (CAT), Villanova University's campus programming board that develops a wide range of events to enhance the undergraduate student experience. The Campus Programming Advisor serves as the primary on-site staff presence for CAT and OSI, supporting the planning and implementation of events that foster community through late-night, on-campus programming for undergraduate students.

This is a 12-month position beginning as soon as possible and operating on both Villanova and Cabrini campuses. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Campus Programming, and in collaboration with two graduate assistant team members, support CAT events through the training, management and execution of all 100+ CAT events each academic year. This includes collaborating with the Assistant Director to assess current programming, to identify evolving student needs, and to develop, implement, and support initiatives that enhance student engagement and connection.

The position will also create and administer trainings before and throughout each semester, informed by data gathered through monthly assessments of programming, and will ensure appropriate professional, graduate, and/or undergraduate student staffing support is in place for each CAT event.

Past events have included: consistent weekly on-campus programming such as monthly senior gatherings, Quizzo, bingo, live entertainment, noontime novelty programming, goat and/or puppy yoga, and more. Off-campus excursions including regular bus trips to Philadelphia or the greater Philadelphia area, Broadway shows, a day in Washington D.C., trips supporting Villanova Football, and Men's and Women's Basketball, and more. Large-scale monthly programming including specific events like the Boardwalk Bash in September, Winter Wonderland in December, and the CAT Bash in April and others.

Provide leadership, staffing, and guidance for Office of Student Involvement programs including but not limited to Labor Day Weekend programming, Athletic Tailgates, Welcome Week in September and January, Family Weekend, Senior Breakfast, Halloween programming, Homecoming programming, and Commencement Week. The Campus Programming Advisor will implement logistical aspects of planning such as event leadership and staffing, equipment rental, facilities requests, transportation needs, event waivers, programming supplies, and event set up.

Consistently create, facilitate, and market social programming to enhance student engagement and community development Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Campus Programming to assess current programming and then develop, implement, and support programming initiatives that respond to student needs. Perform other duties as assigned.

Formal Education Bachelor's degree required. Minimum Work Experience 1 to 3 years of relevant experience demonstrating planning, implementing, and promoting programs for diverse student populations; developing and leading student leadership development programming; peer leadership; student organization development and management. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience with managing budgets Significant weekend and evening hours will be necessary to support weekend activity programming Strong interpersonal skills Strong rapport with students, faculty, staff, and administrator Ability to deliver excellent written and oral communication in a manner appropriate to the audience Strong assessment skills The Office of Student Involvement is an exciting and busy work environment with multiple peak periods of work activity across the calendar year.
