Automation & Mechatronics Engineer, Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering
Controls / Automation Engineer
You’ll architect and implement real-time Controls and SCADA applications that directly power production across Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Specialty Chemical facilities.
This is not maintenance-mode work. You’ll be designing and building innovative automation solutions for modern manufacturing from the ground up.
You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with a talented team, touching every phase of the system development lifecycle while staying close to the client and the plant floor reality.
If you thrive on solving complex controls problems and love seeing your code drive real equipment, this is where you want to be.
If you’ve built and delivered control automation systems before, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Work OnYou’ll be in the middle of real-time controls projects that span multiple industries and technologies:
- Plant-wide PLC-based control systems for manufacturing processes
- MES (Manufacturing Execution System) expeience is IDEAL
- Real-time SCADA and HMI applications for operations and monitoring
- Automation platforms in Life Sciences production environments
- Batch and continuous process control in Food & Beverage
- Control strategies for Specialty Chemical processes
- Reporting and data collection from PLC/SCADA layers
- System architectures across the full automation lifecycle
- Troubleshooting and optimization of existing automation systems
Most of your PLC programming will be on Allen-Bradley platforms, alongside SCADA and reporting systems.
This is about tight, reliable real-time control that manufacturers can trust every single shift.
What You’ll Be Doing- Develop and document customer technical requirements for automation projects
- Design and develop control automation solutions for manufacturing environments
- Program PLCs with a focus on Allen-Bradley platforms
- Implement and configure SCADA applications and related systems
- Participate in all phases of the system development lifecycle
- Troubleshoot complex controls, SCADA, and reporting system issues
- Collaborate closely with a talented internal engineering team
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
- Support deployment and commissioning of automation systems
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation designs and approaches
- Interface with manufacturing customers to ensure solutions meet operational needs
- Provide follow-up support for enhancements and refinements
- BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- 4+ years of experience developing and implementing control automation systems
- Strong hands-on background with PLCs
- Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems
- Experience with reporting systems tied to controls/SCADA
- Proven troubleshooting skills in automation environments
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent client-facing communication and consulting skills
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed for projects (Less than 10%)
- HYBRID - in office 2 days a week
You’ve been the go-to person for taking a set of fuzzy manufacturing requirements and turning them into a working control system that operators trust. You’re equally comfortable in front of a PLC, a SCADA screen, or a client who needs the “why” behind your design.
You know how to navigate life sciences, food, or chemical environments, and you’ve delivered real systems into production – not just lab demos.
Why This Opportunity? You’ll see the direct impact of your work every time a line starts, a batch completes, or a dashboard lights up with real-time data.
You won’t be boxed into a tiny slice of the stack – you’ll touch requirements, design, development, troubleshooting, and client interaction.
And you’ll do it in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where strong engineers actually get to ship solutions, not just slide decks.
